The British magazine Monocle praised Helsinki for, among other things, its green cityscape
The British magazine Monocle named Helsinki as the world's most livable city, the runner-ups being Zurich and Copenhagen.
Helsinki's success is based on several factors: Helsinki has had the courage to re-evaluate its goals as an urban entity. Among the deciding factors were the amount of green areas within the city and the quality and operation of city services.
Low crime rate, excellent education and well-developed food culture served also to improve Helsinki's standing.
